Phil has over 40 years of experience in investing for individuals, families, trusts and non-profit organizations. Prior to joining Boenning & Scattergood Inc., Phil served as Senior Vice President with Millennium Wealth Management Advisors.
Phil utilizes a value-orientated approach in investing for his clients. His screening process usually begins by seeking out companies with conservative balance sheets. When analyzing equities, he favors companies that have demonstrated long-term consistency of profitability, especially those with high returns on equity. Phil understands the importance in valuing the fundamentals of a company rather than the current fads of the market. His bond recommendations are chosen from his research on companies with characteristics similar to those identified in his equity screening process and are often constructed with a “ladder” of maturities. He would rather accept a slightly lower yield with the expectation that the principal will be repaid at maturity than take greater risk with “safe” money.
Phil is a CFA® charter holder* and was awarded the charter in 1997.
